Semester by the Sea

Semester by the Sea (SBS) is an experiential marine science program for the University of Maine, open to undergraduate students with a sophomore-year standing, who have taken a year of biology and a year of chemistry. Students study and reside at the Darling Marine Center along the coast of the Damariscotta River Estuary, where they experience hands-on applications of marine science topics such as conservation, oceanography, biology, ecology, aquaculture, and scientific diving.
